This can be a long time. Why (or better: how) they should release a GT-Masters 2016 pack? And racing in the state of now is no fun (fictional GTR3s)
Much easier to implement the RUF in GT-Masters with real liverie. Who cares? Or let me chose the RUF and as oponents the GT-Masters series. Could not be so hard to realise...but i am really tired to race against 15 oldimers branded with ST
But what sense make a license of e series, if i am not allowed to relese the cars of the series (e.g. Porsche, Lambo)?
Because it isnt ready yet. Simple as that. This is likely the reason. How would ADAC feel if Sector3 just threw in a completely different car into their official championship? Getting a series isnt as simple as getting a license for the series name. You need to get the licenses for every individual car that is in that series too. And Porsche, Lambo, Ferrari, etc. arent always the easiest to get
I assume there is a series license to call it "ADAC GT Masters" and use the offical names plus single manufacturer licenses.
Not to forget, the old 997 chassis is no longer in GT Masters which S3 needs the new Porsche GT3. Using the Ruf, I won't think it is appropriate as it is the wrong car to begin with.
Moreover a real 911 GT3 licence would pave the way for proper Porsche Cup series, which might also be interesting for Raceroom's trackside business model.
You guys are really picky. I think it is great that we can get such a diverse field in the GT3 category. Much better to see a lot of different cars than seeing only 4 or 5 different models.
Wouldn't call it picky. I for one, just would like to influence the variety of my opponents. Having 5 P4/5s, 5 Mustangs and 5 Camaros in a 30 car grid, but only 1 or 2 Mercedes just looks awkward. In AC I can configure the field to my liking. Or as I wrote before create a Muscel Car cup or a pseudo Porsche Cup. I think that makes racing even more diverse
Just look at the picture in top of this Homepage. No Camaro, no Mustang (especially no pink one), not 3-4 P4, etc etc P4 is ok. One...but not 5 in the grid...these where exotic birds and did in real not fill half of the grid. If i race in GTR3 class, i have the imersion that i race just egainst exots and the normal GT3 from today are rare.
I agree with both... It is really great to have such a variety of cars in a class. But with the evolving of R3E it gets quite mixed up. We all hope, that R3E stays for at least the next 10 Years with continued development, new features and new Content incl. cars. That means that the GTR3 cars from 2027 will race against GTR3-Cars from 2012 (like the Alpina). So the idea of having a car-selection is needed to have a great variety in GTR3 combined with the possibility to create a race you want to have. Things like dynamic BoP could be interessting for the future, too. So that newer cars that might be faster in future will get additional Weight automatically added, when an older car can join the field. So you would be able to enjoy the full performance of the car when driving or racing agains similar cars, but have exciting races against old cars, too.
I think R3E really needs the Porsche license as Porsche has quite a decent amount of cars that R3E needs. The problem is, I do not want to race with Mustang, Camaro and other first generation GT3s taking up a large number of cars on the grid. They are comparably slow to even the second gen GT3s like SLS or 12C, they would be even worse if they are competing with M6.
Just to clarify... the Camaro was in the same generation like the other mentioned cars. It just wasn't that successful in better known championships and it doesn't found so many customers... But especially in its first year it was very competetive in GT-Masters against the other cars. In the following year they struggle with the new tire-manufacturer as the series switched from Hankook to Pirelli...
that was dedicated to @Cheeseman's post, as he claimed that the camaro was in an older generation of GT3-Cars. That there are more Camaros in a race than there were in real life is a different story...
