Just a small recap for tomorrow's Round about the fearsome reverse grid formation Even tho @Marco Conti has a point by saying that we could do that directly during the actual formation lap in the race, I'd rather do the reverse formation during the quali session cause in my mind it'd be better to start Race 02 session already in position for the formation lap ("ouch I have to find my spot", "let's see... where is Oberg? Oh dang here he is... oh wait i'm not supposed to be here...!" and so forth). So... We'll do our Race 01 as usual (practice - quali - race with formation lap) After the race is finished PLEASE DON'T DISCONNECT!! Just wait till everyone (or timer) has finished and the positions are displayed. We're gonna kill the server. I'll prepare the reverse grid formation. We're gonna restart the server for Race 02. I'll paste in the private chat the reverse grid formation so everyone can see his relative position in Race 02. During Quali, from the pits and one at a time, we line up as we did last time. This time, please, just text a "ready" when you are in position using the in-game chat so the next one can proceed. When the last car gets into his position, please text "last ready" We'll then do our two laps to set starting positions for Race 02 Session like we did last time We'll do Race 02 session with a formation lap. This time everything should go better... yikes! PS: regarding the formation lap in Race Sessions. I've seen from the replays many of us "jump starting" cause of the torque and the lack of sensitivity of a real accelerator pedal. My noob suggestion: let's start in 2nd gear. The engine kick is smooth & controlled and we won't look like drivers with a ferocious hiccups attack!
This was the missing piece last week to race 2, no positional awareness beyond your car. Just told to go.... I had people pass me and I was basically at the end of the grid...I was like this isn't right...where am I? How did I get here? This is not my beautiful wife! Where do I go now? who's my camp buddy? I still think the ESR FIA should give me a free bonus point for last weeks debacle my team is looking into it IMO everything will be fine now for phase 2. Good job Orc.
You stand correct. If you DNF'ed in Race 01 cause of a crash or disconnection or you're abducted by aliens (probably James buddies) your position will be random sorted along with the other DNFs. Late joiners (those who connects for Race 02) go all the way back to the bottom of the grid
