Yes, i would rather have a master of 1 based on raceroom and how it works than a convoluted mess, jack of all trades. The best racing titles are the specialised 1 or 2 make, focus on getting it right in every way more than content and the almost but not quite right, "jack of all trades master of none" attitude. Every modern racing title bar a couple focus way too much on content rather than quality, yes on the surface they look great, have shitloads of cars, multitudes of tracks, but start to dig and you find the faults, the errors and the mistakes, ahhh sod it, thats near enough dosnt really cut it. So yes, give me a game that focuses on GT Racing and pretty much only GT Racing, make it do everything right and efficiently, the right cars, the right tracks, the right setup options, make it look good, drive good and most of all fun! Make it a good, well focused SIM, i`ll be happy, developers will be very happy, they`ll be quids in............i could go on and on.
I'd say "it depends" - if it features: * animated pit stops * full course yellow * pace/safety car * all current GT3 cars with respective skins (I'd be satisfied with the ones from Blancpain) * all current GT3 tracks (see above) * Physics en par with Raceroom * 24h time cycle with time compression * dynamic weather * driver change then I will certainly buy it
This. Also please add DX11 or DX12, formation laps, rolling starts, dynamic track, Group C, IMSA. Name it GTR3 and I’m a happy customer.
It's a long way to the perfect racing sim ... and yes, there is still a loooooooooooooooot of work for R3E ... and that's why I doubt that GTR3 will offer all these features in a short time ... GTR3 = just R3E in Unreal 4 Engine (almost the same cars, almost the same tracks, almost the same features, ... with day, night, weather and offline options) ... well, we'll see what SimBin UK will produce ...
Why? From how I understand it, GTR3 focuses on GT racing while Raceroom still has lots of Touring car and cup series.
DX11 is a given, but yes, I forgot the formation lap and rolling start and dynamic track conditions. As for Group C and IMSA (I'd love to have them) - isn't GTR3 focused on GT racing? Or did I misunderstand that?
It was a generalisation, but yes, the "GAME" itself is a little all over the place. GTR3 has, if the developers use their noodle a little the potential to be way up there with the best, they can pick the best bits from some of the best driving games over the last 15 years, GTR2, Race\Evo and Raceroom. So much of the groundwork has already been done and i would imagine a lot would be shared between studios to aid in development, probably more work for the graphics team than the coders GTR2 with 2018 cars\tracks and graphics Job done.
