Georg is getting better and better with this stuff. Kudos.

 

The Cars are completely different - IRL the DTM Mustang is closer to the Street-Car as it is based on Group A-Rules. The Mustang GTO is a pure Race-Car.
That leads to a new Car-Model in R3E as the bodywork doesn't have very much to do between those two versions.

They are really bringing Trans Am into the game. Are we getting one or 2 cars for that class? Like a Chevrolet Camaro or Corvette? I doubt we'll get a Mazda, Ferrari, Dodge or Pontiac, though.

Where are you getting TransAm from? My history on American GTs isn't all that, were TA running the same rules as IMSA's GTO class?

 

My first thought was also that it was a Trans Am Mustang. I'm not sure what the differences between Trans Am and IMSA, but I'd say it's safe bet that it's an IMSA Mustang to pair with the lonely Audi.

Just to check, you mean both the Nissan 300ZX and the 1985 Ford Mustang GTO?

As far as I know, she SCCA Trans-Am Series and the IMSA GTO Series were very similar in the 1980s. The biggest difference were the engines of the cars. GTO = inline 4 cylinder engines, inline 5 cylinder engines or 6 cylinder V-engines, Trans-Am = a lot of 8 cylinder V-engines (more like a NASCAR Late Model road racing series)

I thought the Mustang was GTO but is a V8? As I say though, no expert on this area and happy to learn.

It was recently re-born and currently tours around Murica. I've watched most of the races this year (they have at least two or three different classes that have their own races) and it's pretty dang good racing.
