This better works on the csw if not than they lost allot of money. Edit: Yes it is compatible with the csw v2 and v2.5! amazing looking wheel allot of new features
Great looking wheel, but too bad they didn't go "all replica" and changed the wheel a bit too much in my opinion. It you own a Fanatec wheelbase, this looks like a great deal If you have an OSW or AccuForce it's completely uncertain that this rim will work because of the tuning menu and xbox mode. The tuning menu enables/disables or changes certain functions of the steering wheel, right now the tuning menu does not work on USB converted Fanatec rims.
I hope there is a version for the upcoming podium series ... (Or will it only be this CSL version ?) @HoiHman version looks a lot better though.
Fanatecs Version Look like a Gamecontroller , HoiHmans Version Looks Like straight out of a racecar. If I had a DD base I'd definitely prefer HoiHmans.
The Aspect that could be critical on the new Fanatec-Rim are the grips - they look like rubber at the moment. The rest looks ok. Yeah notably located on a below CSW-Level as the frontend of the rim is pure plasic but with a cool touch... the Clutch-Pedals are a nice feature for modern GT-Cars...
And here is the other side of the Fanatec: Looks like it is possible to exchange the quick release, right ? (I never saw a CSL up close...) And yes, the grips look like rubber, don't like that cheap look / feel.
Looks very plasticky. Also I wish they would use coloured buttons instead of A, B, X, Y. Anyway I've moved on from Fanatec wheels now so it doesn't really matter to me
I would love to test to those clutch paddles that look so cool. But, paying > 180 € for only just clutches, is maybe a bit too much
I have ordered one and will convert it to OSW. Don`t care that much if the tuning menu works. As long as I can get the rotaries and buttons working, along with the analog clutch paddels. The IRL rim has rubber grips. In the long run that is not bad. I don`t want to use gloves to keep the alcantara looking good. Will be using one of these to connect the buttons to USB interface. https://www.simracingmachines.com/WebShop/fanatec-conversion
Well, I could not resist either. I did include the CSW QR for my V2 base (and Podium DD) to come. I was informed the wheel has no rumble motors inside (because CSL line), but I hope it will get replaced some time with a Podium series GT3 wheel. My actual Formula Carbon is just a tad too small to comfortably drive a GT3 car. Too bad @HoiHman version is not compatible with the Fanatec bases. Btw: @F19_CoNa that is an interesting site there
That conversion set will not work. The bolts on the back of the have a different pattern. It remains to be seen if the clutch will work at all since it's the functions are controlled by the tuning menu. Also i believe a XBOX one rim has not been converted to USB either. A lot of uncertain factors. Time will tell
Not sure how it wont fit as the fanatec quick release will fit. The small end of it should have the same bolt pattern as the fanatec quickrelease. Then the larger side fits on a 70mm qr. in worst case scenario I will just gut it and install own internals.
Today was a great day for me as I took delivery of one of HoiHman's gorgeous GT3 rims. I spent a couple of hours messing around in various racers and all I can say is Wow! this is just sublime. With a fantastic build quality and a good weight it oozes class. It's very solid so feedback is not lost half way through the rim, the action on all buttons and switches is solid yet smooth and for me it's the perfect wheel to fill the gap between a formula rim and a GT wheel. I can imagine using it for many car classes..until I can buy more rims of course
The rim looks really great on your rig Steve. The combination with the SRH display is just beyond awesome
I made and sold a handfull Mclaren rims. I'm not making them any more, but there's still a DIY version available for purchase
