App Offical release of Crew chief version 4 - auto updating and shiny

I did check the CrewChiefV4.msi have complete admin rights so it shouldn't

so i'm as you confused to.... oh we don't give up that easy... I'm gonna poke around and see if I can understand where it stops instaling..
I did try second install to root made no difference

 

I monitored the install just and chosed repair then it started from scratch and it actualy stops as it is finished when the sound is to be installed so nothing more happens ??

 

anyone else seeing these errors? My dev box is Windows 7 so I'm kinda guessing how it'll behave on Windows 10. But a simple .MSI installer with the app running as a normal user and writing to [user]/AppData/local should work

 

I don't understand what you mean Mich. The installer doesn't make sounds or a sounds path. The app does this

 

I'll try to change owner rights on the CrewChiefV4.msi and see if that does anything

 

Oh I was monitor the instalation as it progress and when it comes to instaling sound it stops and behave as it is finished and end install that's where it is wrong but why it does that I havent figgure out yet

 

the .msi doesn't install the sounds. The .msi just installs the app. When you launch the app it will create the sounds folder and prompt you to download them. You shouldn't need to run the .msi as admin, but you can try running the app (CrewChiefV4.exe) as admin to see if it'll let you download the sound packs, which should be downloaded to [user]/AppData/local/sounds/

Yea GOT it Going.. removed all install and reinstaled once again in root directory F:\CrewChiefV4\ then started as admin direct on the .exe file now it started instaled sound ALL GOOD... so what I did wrong was to try to start it from shortcut first time.. that's why it didn't install the sound.

 

Works great for me on windows 7 without any issues

 

Yea it was me who made mistake to creat a shortcut on desktop and start it there first time.. so first time start have to be on the .exe file or it wont work in win10 for me that is

 

Maby you should let the installer start up CrewChiefV4 when install is ready automatic (not a choice) so it do install all right away

 

Mich - that's still weird, sound like the app doesn't have permission to write to the app data folder. Still, glad you got it working in the end

 

Well I might been to hasty... it worked the progema start now but and make all drawers but no sound file in them program reported this when klick on start..

OK found button download sound file it works... let see if that was what I made wrong now ha ha
and the download drivers.....

Don't make shortcut before started program from instaler...
Don't forget to check if virusprotection need to have a exeption
Don't forget to start fisrt time as admin in win10
and don't forget to use head and eyes before posting problem ha ha ha

Jim, just noticed an issue when in practice. Your reporting every lap is the fastest even when it isn't. Was driving DTM 2015 on Norisring and Hockenheimring and the issue is on both. Was fine in a race on Zandvoort earlier. Ta.

Idk if this is already a known bug but I started a singleplayer qualifying and didnt exited the box and watched the AI driving and then the crew chief thought I was that driver and told me his times and splits all the time.
