App Offical release of Crew chief version 4 - auto updating and shiny

Crikey, it looks like there's a very stupid bug in the initialisation code that's attempting to add 2 entries to a Dictionary object using the same key(!). Sorry folks, I think this has been broken for a couple of weeks. I'll have a fiddle this evening

 

If you disable the "use alternate beeps" option it will allow the app to start, but to do this you'll need to delete the whole settings folder - [user]/AppData/local/Britton_IT_Ltd/ folder (because the won't start, so won't allow you to change the property value).

Bugger, this is a bit embarrassing.

I'm planning an evening of coding so I'll make this the top priority. It's a simple enough change but because the app's full of WIP text-to-speech stuff for missing driver names, I'll need to unwind these changes first. I really should get into the habit of making feature branches...

4.1.6.0 is out with the crashbug fixed.

I've been *really* struggling this week with some frankly outrageous levels of work stress and general chaos, so I've not had the time or concentration to do decent testing on this. I've had to cut this release *with* the text-to-speech stuff included, even though it sounds (in Windows 7) completely arse. It might be better on Windows 10. If it works. Might need to install the Microsoft Speech TTS voice pack, but if it's the same one as Windows 7 prepare for a shock.

If I've buggered this up please kick me and I'll sort it

I'm almost always getting a call out that my water and oil is getting hot and that I need to take it a bit easy when my races are close to finish.
Is this legit, can this cause problems if I don't take it easy, or is it a bug?
A bit weird that I almost always get those, but never seen any effect when ignoring them..

 

Ignore them, I keep forgetting to remove that code

 

Let's hope you will have reason to put them back at some point!

 

It'll stay in the code, but I need to use the absolute values the game sends. These are always really low (cold). The current code gets a baseline and uses deviation from this to trigger warnings. Which is a bit silly - it should just use the absolute values, which means it won't trigger till the game starts sending sensible data

Would it be possible with a checkbox with: "Autostart application at startup"?

 

Startup with windows? You can already do that on your own with creating a task in windows.

 

SimXperience is openening CrewChief for me.

I mean this:

It would be great with a checkbox there, "autostart application"

 

It already has this option - there's a run_immediately option, which starts the app listening as soon and you run it. There's also a launch_r3e (or something) option which fires up the game

mr_belowski, this is simply an outstanding piece of work you have produced. It's made the game so much more immersive and even an old slow coach like me feel like he's going fast.
