AFAIK the AMD A10 7700K has a built in GPU. Could there be some kind of problem in which GPU to use? Or is the R7 370 the GPU from the CPU?

This is why @m.bohlken suggests to set the refresh rate under Windows to 59 Hz to make the resolution visible inside RRRE.

Thats the reason why i suggest to use VSR for R3E, as I was in the same situation and don't liked switching the refresh-rate. With VSR it's just a simple switch in the driver and you get what you want after selecting the 2560x1440-resolution in the game-settings.

In the catalyst control center activate 'advanced mode' and search for an option 'alternative dvi mode' or somewhat similar. Change this setting, reboot and try again. I fixed some aspect ratio issues with my monitor using a Radeon HD6870 some years ago. Maybe it works for you. Maybe it does not.

As far as I know Win10 can not properly use any other frequency than 59hz at the moment in 1920x1080 16:9 so if the win10 is set to 50hz pr 60hz games and programs won't show proper resolution no mater what is done win10 need to be at 59 hz when running 1920x1080 19:9 to have a stable system.

I have win10 Nvidia GTX card and run on 49" 16:9 widescreen running at 1920x1080 without any problem what so ever in any game or program or playing video all in full screen or windowed doesn't matter but if I change windows to 60hz all sort of strange things start to happen and some games don't even work any more.. why this is so I don't know and don't care, I set win10 to 59 hz and all works fine. that is good enough for me. ;) and obviously I set that frequence in the games and programs too. thrugh HDMI cable with audio thrugh HDMI option off! ;)
