    I'm pretty sure he meant "wicked FOV" as a good thing. I know I wish I could get mine looking like Mr. Rast's! ;)

    Yea, it's quite alright. But seeing that he's driving a WTCC car it looks damn fast to me.
    Or maybe that's because I don't dare to shift higher than 3rd. ;)

    It may just be the photo but it looks to me like your screens are way more than 45 or even 50 degrees. I have mine at 45, using a protractor and physically, they look like buddy's screens that shown in Post #4.

    I'll bet a big reason you are getting the 'funhouse' effect you are referring to is all in your settings and physical angles of your screens. They look too angle in and I don't think any setting is going to eliminate it looking incorrect.

    There was a discussion a while back at the rFactor 2 forums about triples prior to ISI implementing customization to the config.ini. IIRC, due some visual constraint, 45 degrees was optimal due to how screens are rendered. Since this is some derivative of an ISI engine, and since there is no visible Multiview option, I would think it may apply here too. Then again, nobody really knows what all is going on in the .fx files. Anisotropic filtering is built in to those, hence no in game option and that too was not really documented.

    This is my setup. It looks fairly undistorted. IMO, it looks better in this game and rF2 than it does in AC which has some type of Multiview and iracing for sure which certainly has that. It looks and feels more like I'm in the car.

    In many pictures of triple screens the centre screen looks smaller than the ones on the side. Is that an artefact of the wide angle of the camera?

    Mine looks pretty much like yours, gigantic side-view mirror, dash comes toward you at an angle instead of going straight across. I used a printed protractor thing and they're right at about 50 degrees, but due to space constraints that's about as wide as I can get them (my left monitor butts up agains the wall and the right side is up against a table). In AC and iRacing I can get it dialed in real nice where I can see both mirrors, the dash goes straight across, and there's no warping. I tried to adjust it in rF2, put the correct measurements into the text file but nothing changed so I must be doing something wrong.

    Here's a better view of what it looks like in R3E (this car happens to not have a giant mirror, but most others do), I've got used to it to where it doesn't bother me quite as much. I'll try going with the default FOV setting and see if I can get it looking anything like Mr. Rast's.

    Oh okay, yeah, in these pictures the screens look less angled so it was just the picture in your earlier post.

    For me, it is only in this game and only some cars where the mirror looks funny. This also may address @Raaf question. It may have a bit to do with the wide angle as well as the outer screen being that 6-9" (15-20cm) closer. I'm no expert but it seems like these games also try to compensate for perspective in some way. i.e. The hood and nose trying to appear further away while your left mirror is right there so it will look bigger.

    In the case of the RUF, the mirror is just wrong and maybe should be redone. No other cars I can think of, off the top of my head, have excessive large mirrors. Then again, I have favorites and do not drive everything all the time.

    For me, with iracing, there are quite a few cars, where even dialed in, I don't get a mirror to the right so I just turn it off.
    i.e. The Cadillac.

    Your rig makes me laugh, in a good way, as I built a stand with side wings to support the side monitors. My poor old chassis is PVC tube that I made 17 years ago. :eek: Crazy number of steering wheels! I too keep an extra set of pedals around though mine are reworked G27 homebrew with a pneumatic brake.

    Here's a clip of my rF2 config.ini in case it may help Brandon;
    ViewParams=(0.590, 0.369, 0.690, 45.000, 0.030) // screen width (m), screen height (m), eye distance (m), side angle (deg), bezel gap (m)
    LeftView=(0.590, 0.369, 0.690, 45.000, 0.030)
    RightView=(0.590, 0.369, 0.690, 45.000, 0.030)

    All settings metric. You probably were already on track but in case.

    My understanding of how "non supported triple screen" games works is it renders one wide image all at the same perspective. If I were to put all my monitors in a straight line it would look correct, but once you angle too of them towards you it makes things look screwy. A game like AC lets you push the perspective out on the side monitors so it lines up correctly.

    There are plenty of cars that have giant mirrors, in my experience more do than don't. Here's the Merc ADAC with its giant mirror.

    My rig is a hodge-podge! :p When I built it I never imagined I'd have three monitors so I had to improvise with the tv trays. It works well enough that I haven't bothered to build/buy a new one. The core of the rig has turned out to be very flexible and moddable though so it's evolved nicely. I'm hoping to build an all new one next summer. I have two rims for the CSW but you also see my T300 rims (it's currently in a box, just got back from repairs). Just off screen is my GT3 RS V2 and in my closet is my broken G27 along with my modified G27 pedals. I should probably line everything up at some point and take a family portrait. :D

    I'll try your rF2 settings. Those were the same settings I adjusted and as far as I can tell it made no difference from the default settings, it still looks like R3E with the skewed side monitors.

    Brandon, not sure if you tried this, in your cockpit camera file try changing the FOV to a high number 75+ see if that helps.

    It will give you something like this.

    These are also worth playing with, think for a triple monitor setup these values maybe important to play with for a good perspective.
    <relativeTransform type="Matrix">{
    1.00000000 0.00000000 0.00000000 0.00000000 L/R
    0.00000000 1.00000000 0.00000000 1.05 U/D
    0.00000000 0.00000000 1.00000000 -0.87 F/B

    I've never tried that, only tinkered with the FOV setting in the menu. I'll check it out if I ever start messing around with it again. Thanks.

    Try a 68 FOV with
    <relativeTransform type="Matrix">{
    1.00000000 0.00000000 0.00000000 0.40000000
    0.00000000 1.00000000 0.00000000 1.05
    0.00000000 0.00000000 1.00000000 0.75
    0.00000000 0.00000000 0.00000000 1.00000000 }</relativeTransform>
    This is for the Nissan GTR which is RHD change the 0.40 to a negative valu for LHD
