As far as I know you can buy the Falken livery. I brought it by myself. Or can't you buy it any more?:O

Yes you're right. When I enter the store now without logging in to my profile this livery is available for 49 vRP. But I'm sure in the beginning it was only available if you had taken part in the Falken competition. Just like the Fanatec livery for the BMW M3 GT2 (which is still not available in the shop!) and the Thrustmaster Corvette C6R GT2 now.

And I also remember that the Alpina B6 GT3 in the green Alpina colours was not available for me to buy while I saw a few people using it online. And I believe it was because I missed some competition. And some months later it was made available in the shop for everybody to buy - which I did. :D

This means that the status of the Falken Ruf has changed at some time in the past, I don't know when this happened though.

So I'm sorry for my misleading posts. I wasn't aware of this. :(

Not a problem, glad you can enjoy it too!

But of we ever decide to add forum members' names into the game, the Falken RUF has to be reserved for A. Spooner.

Well, I'm the single guy who voted for "Bother" (so far) because I really don't care for stuff like this... :D

But I agree it would be funny. :)

Whats the point of this car?
No real livery or even a number.. doesn't look like a race car, more like a track day kind of car seen in AC!..

I would want to have driver name snot painted as part of the car skin on the cars, irreversibly, but a placeholder there, and then player's name being entered there. It was like that in the good old days.

I can remember in Live For Speed you could define a short word to show up on the number plate of your car - when the car had one.

Two other points I really liked about LFS. Skins were easily made and you could even upload them to a central service from where everybody else got the skin downloaded if he didn't already have it. So everybody could have your skin and see it. But you could also disable skin downloads if you had low bandwidth. Then you saw a standard skin on that car. The other point is that they had online driver changes for endurance events - an absolutely great feature.

The rest of LFS was definitely not my cup of tea. I hated the physics - it was like driving on wet grass all the time and all cars were incredibly tail-happy. Combined with very bad FFB that gave you no feel about what was happening, the cars were horribly hard to keep on the track for me. Graphics were sub-standard, back then when I tried it already. Sound was totally sterile and electronic. And the whole community was so unbelievably conceited about themselves, I just couldn't stand it.

TOCA 2 for Amiga, another racer for Amiga or PS1 with I think Porsches in it (cannot recall the name, think it was not some NFS title), and some fantasy racer that either was my late Amiga or PS1 - or early PC time.

As I said - the good OLD days. :)

It's a livery based on a Porsche 997 tuned by Liberty Walk:

I'd guess this livery is going to be used in an upcoming competition.
