Wheel range setup is automatic in the game. Just set your wheel driver settings to the max. (900°, 1080°, depends on it) In game it will automatically be set to the default range of the car you'll drive (as long as your wheel is recognize by the game) You can change this value in the car setup if the default doesn't fit you.
How long has it been like that? Drove the F2 and it had a massive lock to lock. I must be doing something wrong will relook tonight. I have a G27 by the way.
More than a year FR2 is something like 400° wheel range (maybe 360, I can be wrong) You can see it in the car setup menu => Wheel settings You may need to set something in the logitech profiler to allow the game to change the wheel range. I don't have logitech wheel so I can't help more than that.
These issues are being worked on. Don't know if there'll be a fix included in the upcoming patch, but they are definitely looking to fix those.
I must be doing something wrong then as no car has given me a 1:1 rotation without changing the setting to try and match them.
Watch-out: if you compare with the virtual wheel it may not be 1:1 Virtual wheel is not a good reference. Other than that, automatic wheel range work pretty good in this game, maybe the one that work the best IMO
There will also be an option to match the in-game steering wheel animation to the steering rotation you set in the car setup screen.
Hmm guess we are talking about different things? I want to calibrate my wheel to max rotation (900) then in each car the steering ratio and the on screen rotation are set by the physics. Like pcars does it for instance.
Yep we are talking about the same thing, but At this time the on screen wheel is not automatic, it's a fixed value from the in-game menu. But @J-F Chardon said above that this will be fixed with the next update we are talking here. The "car wheel range" is automatic since more than a year. so: until the next patch: don't bother with the virtual/on screen wheel, it's not automatic.. but the in-game range is. Best option: disable the virtual wheel... you already have one in front of you, you don't need a second one
This. But for those who want one, you'll be able to set the "steering animation" to "Match Car Setup" and it will take care of that automatically.
OK I will wait for the update, personally I like the onscreen wheel, mine doesn't look like the one that should be in the car. Also don't some cars have a dash on the wheel? Will check the F2 again as that had way too much lock for some reason.
By the way, Logitech users should upgrade their drivers, or the automatic wheel range adjustments might not work anymore after the patch: http://support.logitech.com/en-us/software/lgs
The old 5.10 for G27 got an update yesterday: http://support.logitech.com/en_us/product/g27-racing-wheel#download For some reason the version number remained the same but you can see the post date.
Can one install the new lgs510_x64.exe directly over the old one? I am always a bit hesitant when messing with drivers when my system is working OK with the current ones.
