Would be good for someone to put a list up of the cars that use either H/sequential shifter half the time I have no idea, you can't go by the in-game arm movement.
Agree. I was driving the "new" M3 gt2 last night with paddles. Imagine my horror when YouTube videos of real life onboard showed sequential shifting!! I run the game with wheel and arms turned off so it's even harder to tell....
Year of manufacture does have bearing on what sort of gearbox it may have. The first sequential gearboxes (or semi automatic gearboxes) were seen in formula 1 in 1989, so you can be sure there was no sequential gearbox in car racing before that year (Porsche PDK system or Chaparral automatic transmission were not sequential types of transmission).
Try reading what I wrote again. What you are describing is a paddle shift. A sequential shifter is completely different. The year of manufacture is irrelevant since any type of gearbox can be and are retrofitted. Many escorts have sequential or even paddles but only came from the factory with H pattern.
H-shifter is even more fun now. I also like what Sector3 did with the 'head movement' sliders. Works perfect (at least on triples). I have been driving the NSU for most of the afternoon on Brands, trying out all these settings. Had a lot of fun too. But I had to add some FFB because the steering felt much lighter than I remembered. Not an issue anyway.
Sure, but as you say, they came from the factory with H pattern and were modified later. The Nissan Skyline GTR R32 we use in R3E is as it was used in championships when it was released, not a 2018 modified version of the car.
Hence why I said it's probably H pattern but not 100% sure. It could theoretically have any type of transmission...
I haven't driven the new NSU but the previous one already had a light steering, which is correct if we consider that most of the weight is above or behind the rear wheels.
Yes, I am aware of that (I have driven an NSU IRL too - yes I am that old) . But as far as I can remember it was heavier last time I used the car. When I started today I could literally steer the thing with two fingers. Just came to think of it, it may have something to do with my recent switch from Fanatec V2 to OSW.... but....no...the other cars were still fine.
Can someone tell me please how i can see some setting in GetReal with the new options for custom setting for some points. How is the the ABS in get real, Forced Factory ABS? How is the the TC in get real, also Forced Factory TC? And what means Drive assits ESP?
R3E-Facebook: "Is it X-mas yet? We have added two new items to our free-to-play selection! The Sepang International Circuit & the Formula RaceRoom Junior car You can use them in all game modes completely free of charge. Have fun!" What's your opinion guys??? In my opinion it's a bad idea. All people who already bought one or both things are understandably pissed now. iRacing offers none free content! Just cancel the "Free-to-Play" description of R3E and let the haters talk. Who cares?
It's the same as you'd be angry about buying something year ago that's available now for a much lower price. Or that there was a discount.
Would like to know why the Downshift protection on the Porsche GT3 kicks in now for another 1500rpm? The lack of Engine power for braking from high speed made all breaking points pretty useless and i do need to brake alot earlier now. Don't get me wrong i'm sure 911 Drivers can adapt, i just would like to know why that decision was made? When i downshift as soon as the new Downshift protection settings allows me to, the rpm is not even close to the max rpm of the lower gear, it is more like 75%.
