App Offical release of Crew chief version 4 - auto updating and shiny

OK guys, I've done another quick update. This includes the driver names for the TT drivers and the latest additions to the spreadsheet (which are also in the separate driver names packs and sound packs), and it includes the TT car class mapping so it should be correctly recognised when in multi-class field.

I also tweaked the driver last name extraction code to handle last names with 2 preceding parts (like "van de poele" and "van der lindt").

As usual, any problems give me a kick

How about messages for the push to pass feature like: "You have 12 uses left" or "It's on cooldown" when pushing the button? Would be great for us people driving without the HUD.

 

Yeah, been thinking about that too. I'll try the TTs out later and see what I can come up with

 

Righty, uploading a new version now. This fixes zero (0) bugs so everything that was knackered before is still knackered.

It does, however, introduce new bugs along with new features. I've added push-to-pass and DRS events. They're both simple at the moment. The PTP stuff will tell you how many activations you have remaining after the cool-down period is finished (so it's a combined 'ptp ready, 3 activations left' type message). The DRS stuff will tell you when the guy behind is in DRS range, tell you when you're getting close to DRS range, and kick you up the arse when you forget to activate it.

These 2 new things can be disabled with the enable_drs_messages and enable_push_to_pass messages.

Google Drive continues its relentless march / inch towards inactivity so is taking a little time to upload. Should be ready to go in 30 mins or so.

Also I've had to commit the ultimate developer faux pas. I've run out of version numbers. So it's now 3.10.0. Three point ten. Eeeewwwww

 

single soundpacks and driver names updated too? because im load just the lofi sounds and not the full pack.

 

the sound packs are also being updated, you'll need to grab the lo-fi pack again when it's finished uploading. The driver name packs haven't changed since yesterday, but all the latest driver names are in both sound packs and the bundled app

 

OK, the non-bundled app and the latest lo-fi sound pack are ready to rock, it's just the bundled app and the default sound pack still to finish uploading

phew, I have to be careful, if I'm offering "massages" it'll change the maturity rating of the app when it goes on the Google Play Store. Which reminds me, I need to go and rip out all the swearing from the android version

I noticed you have deleted the accoustic reminders for pit windows opening, closing and the "box this lap, boxboxbox!" call. Overlooked in a hurry, or was there a specific reason for that?

I was on pole and he tols me that i´m in 6th position.
