App Offical release of Crew chief version 4 - auto updating and shiny

Hi,
We set up a group of riders here and we are working on the translation of messages to the Portuguese -Brazilian , and we have a doubt in almost every case there's always 3 different audios for the same information, ie , minor modifications to pass the same information do not understand why it would be just not to become repetitive or is there some technical reason that requires that ???

There are multiple sound files in each folder just to cut down on the repetition. The app picks one at random, and would work fine if there was only one file in each folder (but there would be lots of repetition and it wouldn't sound so good).

I thought it had something to do with that but wasn't sure ;-)

I don't know how the trigger is working, but if it triggers if you pass the finish line(by comparing lap numbers I guess) maybe add that the bestlaptime/previous sector1 or some other set time must be > 0.
It doesn't have to be perfect, the first call out is weird when I have no laptime set, if that is gone its enough imho.

The app keeps displaying 3.8.0 but seems to include changes in every update. Could I be doing something wrong?

 

That's weird gerbuho, it definitely says 3.9.1 in the bottom right hand corner of the app when I run it. If you're on the latest version there should be a few properties called "frequency_of..." in the properties UI. The number of sound files it caches on startup should be more than 1400 too.

Are you sure you have downloaded and extracted the latest version?

 

Yeah, I always download and replace the whole thing (not the 3.9 though) but for whatever reason got stuck in 3.8.0. I will check properties and files as soon as I get home but I think it actually works with the latest, it only doesn't show the number.

 

I'll have a look at it from my end too in the morning

 

I checked and there were 10 "frecuency... " options and almost 1400 files cached. Downloaded 3.9.1 and now it's normal. The correct number is displayed.

Rather than trying to collect up driver names here, I made a Google spreadsheet. Not sure if this is the right way to do it, but lets see how it goes. Add your race room name and the name the app should use for you (this should usually be your last name) and I'll add it to the app.

The current version contains a few examples (not the full set of names the app knows)

Thank you for this fantastic app! It has really enhanced my sim
and so easy to set up and use.

Gah, I'm so behind with everything at the moment. I've still not recorded these bloomin driver names. I think the Google sheets spreadsheet for names works well so I'm going to press on with that.

There are a few fixes in the pipeline but nothing major. All my dev time is currently tied up with the android port.

The main reason for this post is to say a long overdue 'thank you' for the feedback, support, and donations over the last few weeks. Its great to see the app being used and enjoyed so much
