Im down for that, after all Swedish Meatballs are world-renowned! The teamspeak idea doesnt sound too bad either imo! I agree that it would be a nice addition, and with "only" 4 people it shouldnt be unnececarily chatty. Im already getting this Us versus Them thinking, becoming all competative and shit haha.
Chating during the race = bad idea, imho, better understand that is your team mate and if he needs cover = support him
Sounds good to me! like I said before though, missing race 1. Sorry meatballs. Been practicing on Suzuka west though. Should be a fun race for round 2. What is your thought on the team speak during race SKRO?
Personally I don't like the chatting thing, mainly cause I am not able to put together a proper sentence while doing something else... LOL. It'd be cool though, but on my side it might be a bit too chaotic: writing down results, keeping an eye if someone gets lost during formation lap, arrange for reverse grid and sending messages to all drivers.. Maybe we can plan this whole thing for next time... In this sense teamspeak works 10x better as we can have common lobby and sub channels for each team..
Each have their own opinion ofcourse, for me personally the immersion and focus isnt diminished greatly by a short sentence of words with a teammate. Maybe I have it easier because I come from a background of FPS games where high pressure high focus situations have to go hand in hand with relevant and detailed communication, so it doesnt reduce my focus or bother me as much. Im not suggesting "small talk" during the race lol, like: "so hows the weather in your city?" that would only be distracting and unnececary, taking away focus while providing no useful information. But lets say at one point in the race two teammates are infront and behind eachother, maybe the guy behind is slightly faster or has fresher tires. In this situation a short sentence is really helpful to co-ordinate a pass safely and quickly for both drivers, minimizing chance of accidents/misunderstandings, unnececary tirewear (hypocrisy, I know) and saving time (for both) relative to the rest of the field. "I think im faster, can you let me pass?" "-I agree, pass on my left side" Maybe the teammate says "hell no, fuck off!" then you just gotta try to pass as usual but the faster and cleaner any such situations are solved, the better it is for the team and both individual drivers, everyone involved wins. If no situation that requires communication arises then you just remain silent, and all is as if you didnt have teamspeak running. Im just saying I could see potential benefits to it, but I also see how it could be distracting/annoying and a turn-off for some. In the end its personal preference, each to their own
Alright gents, I've opened another team for the "last minute" sign-ups (Team Lithium) so at the moment we've @Myself9 and @James Nance in that team (James is deciding for which car). Other users are welcomed... it'd be cool to have 2 more users and have the whole grid filled up! If you wanna do some persuasion to people you know...
lol. i am the best team member off all my personalitys. and i promise to do my best for the team i represent. Simracing is FUN for real
Uh....don't you say ?With James Nance...last minute...mhm...life is funny sometimes, eh ? Weird chances...by all means
