*Moan* Is that really neccessary ? I suggested a Safety Formation Lap pattern to MeMots which I find practical and easy to run (actually for a GearEx Champ I haven't the time to organize) : Safety Formation Lap As even with advanced communities I experienced start crashes due to overambitioned or arbitrary behaviour, I decided to introduce a Safety Formation Lap at the Start of each Race. Actually the common race restart procedure behind a Safety Car applies: With Racestart (Green Lights) all drivers sort themselves behind the Polesetter starting a classical Formation Lap not faster as in 2nd Gear. From Sector 3 (!) on, the Polesetter determines the pace at will. You are allowed to overtake when passing the Start/Finish line. This leaves room for tactical decisions and will hopefully spread out the Grid to prevent the usual mess. Note : This Formation Lap Rule will generally apply to GT/Prototype-Multiclass and G5 Races when large grids are to be expected. Away from that I found the ESR F-Lap/R-Grid rituals nothing more than gimmicks with no actual practical sense (in real racing reverse grids have been applied for sprint series like Touring Cars in the past) that only demand one thing : time that I don`t wanna waste - which brings me to the next point : Start times (for Practice) should be around 8:00 pm EST (1:00 am CET) or even earlier....if I have to race a champ late at night I'm handicapped anyway cause I'm way over my peak already... And my suspicion is that there is at least one guy here who is lobbying for to have such "gimmicks" at all cost but : is that really representing the majority of potential racers here ? Sry for being a bit strict but nobody should say that I wasn't loud enough to make my point
I vote for 2 race format without dividing the grid for fast and slow pilots. Plus I am up with reverse grid and mandatory pit-stops.
@Fairman Hiya pal! Formation lap will stay, to minimize chances of crashing directly from the start as you said, but following the current Reverse grid is up to you guys (in case we do a two races format). I think that for this champ provided lots of exciting Race 2 moments and gave some interesting situations to handle for the fast hosers. By the way @Öberg and @mrSweSin have 100% and 93% race attendance and they've scored pretty good points (Obi finished 3rd) so I don't think that those extra 10min handicapped them that much to impair their performances. Plus, we really improved the speed when forming up for the reverse grid. Anyway we all have our limits and a certain amount of fatigue we can tolerate and I respect everyone's opinion so I've updated the poll (for those who have voted already, please go back and update your preference about this as well!) with a new question about Reverse Grid: how-to. But assumed the majority doesn't want to do a manual reverse grid during Quali, what you're suggesting is then to form up on the fly during the actual race session? You know that if we make mistake and screw up our cars or get drive thru warnings in race session (cause shit happens!), you'll have your race compromised, right? Following your comments about wasting time that might be even more frustrating for you if your race concludes even before starting and you woke up just for that... EDIT: forgot to add a line at the end of the poll where one can explain what "Other" means in case the Other option is selected from the last Question Now corrected!
Hey guys I have another thought, why not throw an enduro in the mix and run 9 races, making Bathurst or Spa an hour to hour n half race with compulsory pit stops etc.
that would be great! i'm pretty sure the limit is 60min on dedicated servers, tho. damn silly limit if you ask me. after 60 min is when it starts getting interesting.
1 hour a bathurst with 3x tires sounds fun, tire ware might actually be a setup consideration 2 v 3 pits ect.
Ok guys the prize base on paticipation for the Gt2 champ is, 500 vrp code Street fighter 4 Ultra steam code Shadow Warrior special Edition steam code Bastion steam code Emilio and I will do the draw very soon. *reminder, each time you raced you get one entry in the draw Emilio and I are not in the draw ( had to fight with Emilio cause he wants those keys too )
Just a thought on the reverse grid situation. Couldn't Memots set the server for race 2 to have a 10 min practice and a 5 min qual depending on the track. It would be nice to have a break in between races but not to sit around for 10 min after the reverse grid setup in qualifying. The reverse grid thing isn't that hard or taxing, so i'm fine with it, its just all the waiting. I have to sit close just in case we start lining up instead of going to get some water and relax, then coming back to do the grid then race directly after. This may have already been suggested or thought of, if so disregard
Just a quick update on the track list selection Great surprise about Slovakia Ring reaching the top! (@MeMotS you haven't spammed all over about this track with that video you showed me huh? Hey Josh! Ideally I'd like to maintain the same time/weekday we've run our past Champ (every Sat at 9PM EST). So it should be your 8pm
i'm surprised at slovakia's votes. i do like it, but i didn't vote for it. glad about oschers too. as for monza, i have a little saying for that gem
Nope! Poll should have set with a "required sign in" to allow changing your vote. SO PLEASE DON'T CHEAT AND ALTER THE RESULTS!!!
