App Offical release of Crew chief version 4 - auto updating and shiny

Thanks. I haven't done many races yet with the DTM but so far it has happened every time in the second race, so not just a occasional incident.

 

I'll record some test data and have a poke around with it, nice to hear that it's consistent

 

Seems like it would be a good idea to have this stickied by the devs - since it really ads to the R3E experience, they should promote it in this way.

 

Jebus - you sure the messages aren't fuel-related? I did try to test this, but got to about 1 minute to go and ran out of fuel (oops). Never saw any issues with race time / laps remaining though, but I'll test again with more fuel.

On the subject of fuel, I did spot an array index bug in the windowed fuel calculation, which means that the laps and time remaining estimate were off by up to 25% - the app thinks you have more laps / time left before empty than you actually do. Will be sorted in the release I'm working on, sorry about that peeps

 

Can't be about the fuel because I just put 90 liters for both races and it was well enough. Chiew even reported that I have half the fuel left and I had driven at least 2/3 of the race.
But I'll do more races this weekend and concentrate solely to figure out what's going on and report back.

I'm new to crew chief and I see vids of other peoples and they seem to have a better relationship with their crew lol as they give out more info than mine! I'm just running it default but are there any settings I should be using? Cheers

 

Jebus - managed to reproduce this issue but only in race 1. Race 2 seems to be OK, but race 1 has a fixed run time *and* a fixed number of laps, according to the shared memory.

Will ignore the laps number if there's a fixed run time, should sort it .

Jim - the defaults should be 'right'. Make sure you enable sweary messages tho. The next update changes the gap calling logic for long tracks so you get more info on the nordschliefe so that might help a bit

Great to hear that I wasn't imagining things.

Though kinda strange, but probably not important, that I'm pretty sure I got it in 2nd race only. I'll do some races tonight to see if I remember somehow wrong.

Not sure what's going in with it but it might be an app bug where the internal state doesn't get cleared properly and the number of laps completed ends up in the total number of laps in the race field. Seems a bit unlikely but I'll check

 

I'm reporting this incase it's helpful for bug hunting.

I just did single DTM 2015 session in 2 race (7/10min) format, and this time I also did practice and qualifying. Everything went perfectly fine, all info was correct.
Other 2 differents compared to sessions before were the cursing chief (BRAVO! Absolutely brilliant! I totally lost my shit first time you told me to keep it together.) and Lausitzring that I hadn't raced before. Dunno if those have any effect for not experiencing the earlier bug.

You sure you scrolled the screen enough down? I was confused at first for not finding that option until I noticed there's more options down the screen.

 

Also make sure you click the 'properties' button

Don't worry, I made the same mistake and felt pretty stupid afterwards.

 

So who is going to extract the audio from this to use in the audio files? (I know, i should stop being a lazy ### and do it)

 

Still working on this update fellas. Nearly sorted - it's the testing that's gobbling up all the time. It'll probably be Friday or the weekend now, in time for the new F4s.
